I found (on ebay) a set of disks being described as such: 'Apple Mac OS X Server 10.4 Tiger M9769Z/A (PPC)'. So, in those instances, a retail OS X install DVD of later version is the path to installation, if you can't get the grey original install-restore disc set the computer shipped with. They have part. The 10.4.11 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Tiger and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac. This update also includes Safari 3, the latest version of Apple's web browser. Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (PPC) SHA-1 Digest.
Indeed-it should be remembered that all versions of OS X are copyrighted still and you must possess a valid license for them. Heck, all versions of the Mac OS are still copyright, although Apple has released everything prior to 7.6 as a free download as well as all versions of OS X starting with 10.9. Otherwise, you either need to get the media or pay up for a developer account.
In any case, when looking for a disks, you don't need to worry about finding a PPC or Intel disk. All retail Tiger disks(black label) are PPC. The exception to this is 10.4.8 Server, which is universal. The only ones which are not PPC are the 'gray' restore disks for Intel Macs. ALL Leopard disks-both retail and gray-are universal. Click to expand.MR's policy is clear concerning piracy and copyright materials.
No links to that material, posting of serials and/or software that cracks other copyrighted software. Just because something is abandonware does not make the copyright void.
The Adobe CS2 incident a while back is evidence of that. Having stated that, MR and the mods only control these forums. They cannot control what anyone does outside of the forums. So, whatever Macintosh Garden does is it's own business.
For my own protection you will notice that I may mention some things but that any links I provide or have ever provided publicly have always been to either freeware, software released to the public domain, or shareware with no codes, keys, serials or cracks. Just my way of trying to stay in the rules. How others do it is between them and the mods. Click to expand.Yes indeed, it's always best to play it safe on here.
For my part, when it comes to OSs, I only post links to Apple pages. As I said, everything 7.5 and earlier has been made available free for distribution(note-it's not in the public domain and Apple retains the copyright, but they've made it freely available for download without no stipulation requiring you to have previously owned it).
The same thing holds true for incremental updates and patches-i.e OS 8.6, OS 9.1-9.2.2, driver updates, and things like OS X combo and security updates. These are NOT full installers, however-they are just updates to install over the existing software.

Recently I got an e-mail from one of my readers asking me if I had some recommendations for HDR software. Well, to be honest I didn’t even know what HDR photos were, so I went to Google and “Browser, Browser, on the Mac, can’t you show me what the heck is HDR Imaging?” and this what my first stop before a second search –. Now knowing what HDR was, it was time to dig up PowerPC compatibly and after some research I came out with this application that I’m looking forward to sharing with my readers! I just found myself in a situation that I never would have thought I’d find myself in. I’m the kind of Mac user that thinks I don’t need anything from Microsoft (wrong). I always choose to format my external hard-drives using Mac OS Extended (Journaled) even when I know that it would be “safe” to format on FAT32.
Recently, I was traveling a few weeks ago and I met a good friend of mine that wanted me to share some of my files with him and vice versa. When I plugged in my hard drive, I could not transfer any of my files because it was locked.
When I realized that his hard drive was formated to NTFSwell I just became sad. So back I went to (like always) and here I found few options that helped me out, that I’d like to share with you.
NTFS 3G – 2010.10.2 (Free) /. Download here: Tuxera NTFS 2012.3.4 – (Demo $31.00) – 10.4 / 10.5 – Tiger / Leopard PowerPC.

By MAC POWERPC Posted in Tagged,. This post is supposed to be just about AppDelete, but when browsing the web, I noted that the developer also has another conversion app that works on the PowerPC so this became a double post! AppDelete is shareware but it definitely does the job! If you are looking for a very easy to use “drag and drop” uninstaller that also allows you to browse your application, screensaver, widgets, as you uninstall, then I think this is a great option for you. It properly uninstalls the applications without leaving any files behind. (Trial version will give you 5 uses) AppDelete 3.2.8 ($7.99) PowerPC – 10.5 Leopard – AppDelete 2.2.4 ($5.00) PowerPC – 10.3/10.4 Panther/Tiger – VidConvert also follows the same layout, it’s very easy to use and the best feature is the “drag and drop”. It will convert any type of video into one of the many popular formats of today.
(Supported output – iPhone, iPad, iPod, Retina, Apple TV, QuickTime,.mp4,.avi, DivX, Xvid, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DVD (.vob), Windows Media, Flash, Matroska (.mkv), Theora (.ogg),.m4a,.mp3,.aiff,.wav,.wma,.ac3) (Trial version will convert only 3 minutes sample videos. VidConvert 1.4.1 ($7.99) – PowerPC 10.5 Leopard – By MAC POWERPC Posted in Tagged,. I think it’s high time to “pimp out” our PowerPCs a little bit! In my opinion the G3/G4/G5 are one of the best designs Apple ever launched. They were designed so “out of the box” that even today they still look as modern as they day they were launched. I honestly love the iMac G4some of my friends are very impressed with iMac G4 because it is a very minimalist machineand we are talking about a design that is now over 10 years old! Anyways, I better stop talking about the G4 otherwise I won’t get to the point.
I’ve been looking for this ScreenSaver for a long time nowyou can find it in any iPad/tablet. In fact, I think some of the tablet users just use their tablets as clocks, as far as I see in some fabulous online photos.
But if you have an office with a spare PowerPC machine hanging around, this will give you a cool reason to turn it ON and let it work for you again! Fliqlo – 1.3.3 – (Free) – PowerPC – Briblo – 1.0.3 – (Free) – PowerPC – Also a Screen Saver but this is so funny, it’s a movable brick block that looks like Lego or Tetris. This would be considered a “Smart Screen Saver” because you can play with it by using the direction arrows on your keyboard. It’s very addictive, I even set up my Screen Saver to start on 3 minutes, when I’d usually opt for it to come on after 15 minutes – just so I can occasionally play with the bricks! P.S.: Thanks Peter for sharing on comments these ScreenSavers are a show stoppers: – – By MAC POWERPC Posted in Tagged,. MacLampsX 2.0 (Free) PowerPC 10.4/10.5 (Tiger/Leopard).
