I know this has probably been asked but my search hasn't come up with good answers. One of the things that has always annoyed my is having to pull out the internal HD on my fat PS2 to install an ISO. Yes, I could do it over the network but it is slow. My DVD laser is long gone, so throwing in the disc isn't possible. Using Ulaunch file browsing I can see every storage device plugged into the system and the files on each.
Doug mcguff. On the the cadence is as follows: 4 seconds lowering the bar (the Negative movement), followed by a 1-second pause (at the bottom), followed by 3 seconds raising up the bar (the Positive movement), followed by a 1-second rest at the top. This completes 1 rep. On the exercise the cadence is as follows: 3 seconds pulling down (Positive movement), followed by a 1-second pause & squeeze (at full contraction), followed by a 4-second return (Negative movement), followed by a 1-second rest. This completes 1 rep.
So what I am about to ask must be 'possible'. Has an app or method been created to dump an ISO image from a connected USB drive to the HD for use by HDLoader? Seems strange that I've never seen one. I'd just like to accomplish the entire transfer at the PS2 instead of getting a PC involved. I have all of my games backed up on an external HD.
It just makes sense to connect it to the PS2 and transfer. No there is still no app, that would allow you to copy an ISO image to the PS2 hdd in hdd format. There is however a way to copy ISO's to the hdd in a partion created, then make a folder called DVD and copy the ISO to that folder named DVD The newer revisions of OPL - Opn PS2 Ldr You would have to compile the latest revision though as its not release publicly I have tested this and it works from HDD, Network on PC, and USB The ISO's files have to be named correctly though in order for it too work There is a tool also for this if placed in the DVD folder Basic instructions Steps to do: 1.
This isn't a huge deal with my PSone games as I just burn them onto my computer and use an emulator, however, I don't have that option with the PS2. So, I started looking in to How to use an external hard drive with the PS2 to play backup games. Jan 12, 2008 Foreword: After a year and a half later, I have decided to re-write this guide, because honestly, it was not my own and it was presented very poorly. Remember, I do no support piracy. Use the USB method to play your games on the hard drive to help your PS2 laser last longer. The performance.
Create a 'CD' directory inside your PS2SMB directory, put your ISO CD images there 2. Create a 'DVD' directory inside your PS2SMB directory, put your ISO DVD images there 3. Copy (or use symbolic link in linux) your ISOs files in the corresponding folders 4. Now you must rename your iso to match the following requirement: GAMECODE.GAMENAME.iso GAMECODE is the unique code identifying a game, ex: SCUS587.46 GAMENAME is the game name, you can put whatever you want, the name must be max 32 characters. Example: PS2SMB/DVD/ SLES553.45.Quantum Of Solace.iso SCES507.60.Ico.iso SCUS973.99.God Of War.iso Now if you want the ISO on hdd, you need to use uLe to create a partion on the hdd, using hdd manager Say I created mine called OPL, because that is the name used to be able to use Cover ART etc for the OPL loader. So now instead of PS2SMB as above, you would create the DVD and CD folders in your OPL partition on the hdd.
This also works for USB, but only ISO game images under 4GB To compile the OPL, you need to read this thread or this one The last link is the one I use. If you can't compile, then you would have to wait for a new release.
