Desktop - You will get more power for the cost out of a desktop. If you are looking for something because you want to be mobile then get the laptop. If you don't care about mobility and want to get the best amount of power for the money spent.
Then get a desktop, it's all preference. Laptop display vs. TV - These will all be based on what you are looking for. If you are looking for the best in terms of lowest response times and highest refresh rates, a good gaming monitor is what you want. I personally use a 40 inch Samsung 4k U7000 series TV that I got a killer deal on. Was like $350.00 after all was said and done.
I'm not a pro gamer and I don't notice any input lag. I run it at 3840 x 2160 and it looks pretty damn good. I'm sure it would look better on a smaller monitor, however I will take the size over it all. Video card and Solid State drive is where I think the money is best spent. Those two things will have the greatest impact on game performance.
And what you get in those two areas really is determined by your budget. GTX 1070/1070Ti or 1080/1080Ti or the 1060 series if you are on more of a budget. And hard drives, I personally love the Samsung EVO drives.
If you are a DIY'er putting a good gaming PC really is not all the difficult. But if you don't feel like doing it yourself, then maybe look at more customer option like CyberpowerPC @ Best Buy. Or going to a mom and pops PC store and see what they have. Another option is to just buy a decent tower (Something with an i5 or i7) and just upgrade it with a better video card, power supply and hard drive. Hope that helps;)Thanks for the advice bro eventhough i dont know half of what u said lol i currently have a smarttv so could i display whats on my laptop to the tv?
